I. Program Introduction

Master of Engineering Management, or MEM.

Master of Engineering Management (MEM) targets technical management personnel in key domestic industry groups in aviation, aerospace, shipbuilding, electronics, weapons, energy, chemical industry; managers in modern services such as finance, insurance, logistics and e-commerce; project management and technical management personnel in IT enterprises and IT service enterprises; and related staff engaged in technical management or information management in government, public service and management departments.

Project management: scientific planning, organization, command, coordination, control, decision-making for modern engineering practice, including: technical and economic demonstration and decision-making of major engineering construction projects, management of key industries and their new products and equipment during development, manufacturing and production; technological innovation, technological upgrade, transformation, management in line with international standards; research and management of major layout and development strategy of industry, engineering and technology, etc.

II. Program qualification

In 1984, Beijing Institute of Technology was approved by the State Council as one of the first 22 universities to run graduate schools in China, and it was one of the first 7 universities with the right to set entrance examination admission mark independently

In 1996, it became one of the first units to grant a master's degree in engineering

In 2004, it became one of the first universities to award a master's degree in the field of project management

In 2010, it became one of the first universities in China to grant a master’s degree in engineering management

In 2011, it passed the AMBA international certification, passed the re-certification in 2014, and passed the third certification in 2020

In 2015, it passed the EQUIS international certification, and re-certification in 2018

In 2017, it became one of the first universities to recognize engineering management degrees and IPMP cross-crediting, and was awarded the IPMP talent training base

In 2019, it passed the AACSB international certification

III. Training goals

To cultivate high-level, compound and applied-oriented engineering management professionals with innovation and inclusiveness, era responsibility, international vision and excellent engineering management ability, who have good ideological and political quality, professional ethics and social responsibility, systematically grasp the forefront of the theoretical knowledge and methods of engineering management, both equipment development and manufacturing engineering, big data and information engineering, energy and environment engineering, domestic and foreign investment decisions and project operation management, and can effectively plan, organization, command, coordinate and control of engineering practice and technology development.

IV. Enrollment information

Registration conditions:

1. Citizens of the People's Republic of China;

2. Support the leadership of the CPC, have good moral character and abide by the law;

3. The physical health condition meets the physical examination requirements stipulated by the state and the school;

4. The examinee's academic degree (national education sequence) must meet one of the following conditions:

(1) Personnel with 3 or more years of working experience after having a bachelor's degree (before September 1,2019);

(2) Personnel who have obtained a master's degree or a doctor's degree and have 2 or more years of working experience (before September 1,2020);

(3) Have 5 or more years of working experience after graduation from a junior college(before September 1,2017).

Registration methods:

Online registration: In mid-to-late October 2021, candidates must visit the recruitment website （http://yz.chsi.com.cn）to complete online registration (education qualification inspection), pay the registration fee online (subject to the registration notice), no overdue, and the registration information shall not be modified;

Registration category: directional employment;

On-site confirmation (or online confirmation): In the mid-November 2021, candidates will bring their valid certificates and the original graduation certificate for photo collection and on-site verification.Candidates who fail to pass the degree verification shall bring the degree certificate report and other documents (subject to the notice of the graduate school);

Print the admission ticket: in mid-to-late December 2021.

Examination process:

Preliminary test: Preliminary test subjects: comprehensive ability (mathematics, logic, writing), English;

Preliminary test method: unified written test, to participate in the national management examination;

Preliminary test time: at the end of December 2021 (the specific time shall be subject to the documents of the Ministry of Education);

Retest: retest policy: independent marking;

Retest subjects: comprehensive quality interview, political written test, spoken English, English listening, engineering management written test;

Retest time is in mid-March 2022 and the retest results will be released in late March 2022.(The specific time shall be subject to the notice of the Joint Center of Professional Degree Education).

Do not accept the adjustment of non-first choice candidates

V. Training mode

Inheriting the red gene of "Yan 'an Root, Military Soul" and serving the major national strategic needs, combined with the school's advantages in engineering fields such as equipment development, computer science and technology, information and communication engineering, management science and engineering, the program has formed four featured training directions:

(1) Equipment engineering management

(2) Big data and information engineering management

(3) Energy and environmental engineering management

(4) Project management

International vision:three international certification of AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA, short-term visit, exchange study.

The second class: mobile classroom, famous master lecture hall, special lectures, academic salon, enterprise forum, etc.

VI. Length of schooling

The basic length of schooling for a part-time master's degree in engineering management is 2 years, and the maximum length is no more than 4 years.

VII. Tuition

Tuition costs are 126,000 yuan for two years, or 63,000 yuan per year.Students are required to pay tuition by academic year at the time of registration.

VIII. Class time

Saturday and Sunday + the weekday nights (or Saturday and Sunday only).

IX. Graduation certificate and degree diploma

Students who have completed the prescribed credits, completed the master's thesis and passed the thesis defense within the prescribed number of years will be granted a graduation certificate of Engineering Management of Beijing Institute of Technology and a master’s degree certificate of Engineering Management of Beijing Institute of Technology upon approval of the university.

X. Other

Using the part-time management mode, the school does not provide accommodation for the students.
