Speaker Profile:
    Zhang Min, associate professor of Business School of Renmin University of China, doctoral tutor, deputy director of the accounting department. The main research areas are audit, tax, family business and corporate finance. He has published over 50 papers on "The International Journal of Accounting(SSCI)", "Journal of Business Ethics (SSCI)", "Pacific-Basin Finance Journal (SSCI)", "Corporate Governance: An International Review (SSCI) ("SSCI"), "The North American Journal of Economics and Finance (SSCI)", "Economic Research", "Managing the World", "World Economy", "Financial Research", "Accounting Research", "Audit Research", and two monographs. He serves as anonymous reviewers for "Economic Research", "Managing the World", "World Economy", "Financial Research", "Accounting Research", "Southern Economy", "Nankai Management Review", "Journal of Business Ethics", "Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics "," The North American Journal of Economics and Finance "," China Economic Review "," Managerial Auditing Journal "," China Finance Review International "and other core journals. He has presided over two National Natural Science Fund Projects; one the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences project, one Chinese postdoctoral special funding project, and one RenMin University of China Mingde Young Scholars project.

Introduction:
     This report systematically explains the topic selction and methods of empirical accounting research. It mainly includes five aspects: (1) the meaning of empirical research; (2) the commonly used methods of empirical accounting research; (3) the characteristics that high quality papers should have; (4) common problems in writing and corresponding solutions (5) the specific writing of the empirical papers, the title, the abstract, the introduction, the literature review, the hypothesis, the research design, the empirical report, the reference and other parts.
