Title: "One Belt & Road" Initiative and New Opportunities for International Cooperation
Speaker: Deputy Director Shi WeiNa (National Development and Reform Commission International Cooperation Center)
Time: April 11, 2017 pm 14: 00-15: 30
Location: Main BLD Room 132
Shi Wei Na graduated from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and received a doctorate in economics. She has long been engaged in national-level, bilateral international cooperation mechanism framework design, foreign negotiations and implementation, and the National Development and Reform Commission research work. The main responsible mechanisms include the Sino-US 10-year energy and the environment cooperation framework, the Summer Davos Forum, South-South cooperation on climate change, regional and country cooperation in the area of “One Belt & Road”.
"One Belt & Road", as the country's important opening-up strategy, will be fully dependent on China and the related country's existing dual multilateral mechanism, and the existing, effective regional cooperation platform. “B&R” borrows the historical symbol of ancient Silk Road, holding high the banner of peaceful development, actively develops economic cooperation with the countries along the belt and road, jointly creates the community of common interests, the community of common fate and the community of common responsibility with political mutual trust, economic integration, and cultural inclusion.
The speaker will focus on the globalization and the “ B&R” initiative, its background and historical inevitability, from an initiative to policy action and new opportunities the initiative brings to countries along the belt and road.
